How do I sign in to Microsoft Teams? 

Answer:  

You can sign in to Microsoft Teams in several ways: 

• Through the desktop app 

• Through the web browser at teams.microsoft.com 

• Through the mobile app on your smartphone or tablet 

• You’ll need your Microsoft account credentials to sign in.

   

How do I create a new Channel in Microsoft Teams? 

Answer:  

Submit a ticket to the IT Support team with details of business needs for the team and who the members should be. 

 

How do I start a new chat in Microsoft Teams? 

Answer:

• Click the “Chat” icon on the left sidebar

• Click the “New chat” button

• Enter the name or email address of the person you want to chat with

• Type your message and hit Enter to send

How do I @mention someone in a chat? 

Answer:

• Type the “@” symbol followed by the person’s name

• This will notify the person and make it easier for them to find your message

 

How do I share files in a chat? 

Answer:  

 

• Click the paperclip icon in the chat compose box 

• Browse and select the file you want to share 

• The file will be uploaded and shared in the chat 

 

 How do I start a video or audio call from a chat? 

Answer:

• Click the camera icon for a video call or the phone icon for an audio call

• This will initiate the call with the person or group you’re chatting with
